Twenty-five years after the initial release of Blade Runner, director Ridley Scott uses archival footage to re-create his original vision for the sci-fi classic. Based on a story by Philip K. Dick, the film is set in Los Angeles in 2019. Earth has become a polluted and miserable dystopia, and many people have fled to live "Off World" on other planets. This dreary vision of the future features replicants: lifelike robots built as slaves for human use. When a replicant escapes his owner, a "blade runner" is called in to hunt him down and kill him. Enter Harrison Ford as the retired blade runner Rick Deckard. He is pulled out of retirement to help catch four escaped replicants: Batty (Rutger Hauer), Leon (Brion James), Pris (Darryl Hannah), and Zhora (Joanna Cassidy.) Despite his distaste for the job, Deckard is soon hot on their heels, tracking them down one by one through the over-crowded, crumbling city streets. In the midst of his hunt, Deckard becomes involved with a beautiful replicant named Rachael (Sean Young). Rachel has fled her owner, and Deckard rightfully should kill her. However, the two fall in love, and after some startling revelations, they are both soon on the run from the very authorities that once employed Deckard. This final cut is a bleaker, more cynical version of an already dark film, which might explain why the studio insisted on a softer, more optimistic ending when it was first released. While some superfans might take issue with some of the revelatory new twists, they will no doubt delight in the quality of the digital restoration. The special effects were already impressive for 1982, but these new touch-ups give them a look that appears just as sharp and imaginative as the sci-fi films of today.;Director Ridley Scott's hauntingly prescient vision of the not-too-distant future stars Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, a retired police assassin, or "blade runner." In the course of his search, Deckard becomes romantically entwined with Tyrell's lovely assistant, Rachael (Sean Young), and must eventually confront Batty in an unforgettable rain-soaked sequence. A highly influential fusion of the science fiction and noir genres based on the novel Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick, this postmodern film boasts astonishingly rich art direction, juxtaposing ingenious technological gadgetry with yellowing photographs and fetishistic objets d'art as it touches on questions of time, memory, identity, and mortality. Different from Scott's 1992 director's cut, this widely released edition of the film, which features Ford's narration and an ending culled from footage of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, remains the most well known version of this stunning cinematic landmark.

Great Set For BR Fans.
If you can still manage to find a copy for a reasonable price like I did, then this is a great collector set for any hardcore Blade Runner fan. The Blu-Ray presentation looks great, and features all previous cuts of the movie. It also features the great making-of documentary, Dangerous Days (albeit in Standard definition), which is an over 3-hour film chronicling the conception and production of Blade Runner, complete with interviews from any and everyone who's thoughts you might want to hear on the process. The first disc is just the final cut, the second disc has a few other cuts, and the third disc features the workprint cut along with Dangerous Days and some other bonus material; packaged in a very nice Blu-Ray Mediabook.

The Best Blade Runner for the Money!
This release of BR includes all of the versions of the film that have been released in the past thirty five years, and they all look incredible. The Final Cut looks the best, but the others are exquisite, compared to any earlier editions released to home video. If you can get this set for a good price, then go for it!

Classic Sci-fi Film of Cinema History
Blade Runner is a 1982 sci-fi film classic of cinema history, there have been many different versions of Blade Runner that have been released but worth watching and are still entertaining films to watch. I highly recommend checking Blade Runner you won't be disappointed with any of the different versions you see, they are different but it's a film you have to see and you won't regret it. It's a piece of cinema classic in film history.

A version for every Blade Lover.........
I saw the original with voice over in theaters, I loved the directors cut that came out years later, I needed a version to show my better half before we saw BladeRunner 2049 and this edition has them all plus some great additional pics and vids, love it.

If you love Blade Runner, you'd have to be a Replicant not to pick this up!!!
Quick review- This 30th Anniversary Collector's Edition comes with 3 Blurays containing all 4 editions, or cuts, of Blade Runner encased in a hard-back book with original art design and story-boards for the film. For the small price this costs, you'd seriously have to be some kind of Replicant not to be excited about this collection. C'mon, Han Solo sans Chewbacca hunting down and terminating Replicants that include the Mermaid from Splash- Enough said!

A brilliant but flawed classic.
This movie is visually spectacular (just think how many sci-fi works were blatantly inspired by it) and includes thought-provoking themes about the concept of humanity but can be a bit of a chore to sit through at certain parts.

Timeless classic!!!
Blade Runner will always be one of those films that challenges the audience into thinking beyond its characters and setting. The five versions of the film lets viewers choose the best possible version of the film. Here's hoping that the new one lives up to the excellence of this first film.

.......made even better with this digital age touch up. The picture and sound are miles ahead of the original DVD release and make this classic even more memorable.

Great collection of movies for Blade Runner fans! It has one of the best cuts of the film..the Original Theatrical Cut that we all saw and heard in the theater!
