With brilliance of intellect, and with a palpable, compassionate heart, Margot Borden takes us, her readers, on a riveting journey toward the discovery of our true, essential self., It requires courage to study the intuitive psychology of the East with the contemporary rational mindset of the West. In this text, Margot Borden brings in conventional and postmodern approaches but integrates the transformative vision of Sri Aurobindo to present a glimpse of a greater psychology waiting to unfold., It requires courage to study the intuitive psychology of the East with the contemporary rational mindset of the West. In this text, Margot Borden brings in conventional and postmodern approaches but integrates the transformative vision of Sri Aurobindo to present a glimpse of a greater psychology waiting to unfold., Holism, the mind-body reality of the human species, forms the heart of Borden's Psychology in the Light of the East. This historical, yet highly personalized, introduction to integral psychology blends Western rationalist traditions with Eastern spirituality. Early chapters describe the 'origins and development' of psychology in the West and East, including manifestations of integral psychology--e.g., Ken Wilber's and Sri Aurobindo's yogic expression. Borden, a psychotherapist, an international public speaker, and an adjunct professor at Antioch University Midwest, expertly highlights the remaining chapters by weaving various threads of integral psychology together. Therapist-patient vignettes illustrate each approach and serve as a handy feature for both students and licensed practitioners. The 'Timeline of Psycho-Spiritual Belief Systems--East and West' provides a concise overview of parallel and diverging directions over the past 2.5 million years. This text is a thorough examination and is most appropriate for those individuals interested in this form of psychology. Summing Up: Recommended. - c***a (121)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufThe seller was very responsive and answered me on a timely matter. The product itself came in its packaging and was new, not used at all. The packaging was not beat up or anything, safely delivered to my mailbox. No mix ups and zero stress with delivery. The price for the product is completely understandable for the product. I really appreciate the seller and I am very happy to have purchased through this seller. Completely trustable!
- m***4 (1608)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufLeaving positive feedback because 1) item was packed well & arrived as described 2) seller did give partial refund when subsequent price dropped below org purchase price. 3) communication was quick However, there was a downside to this transaction -item listed as in-stock but ended up waiting nearly a month for them to get it from their distributer then ship it to me (bought June 29th, arrived around July 21). Auction said 12-15 days. Better clarity would have prevented lot of frustration
