This lens from Canon is designed to meet user demand for a fast EF-S zoom lens. It has a large circular aperture which produces a shallow depth-of-field, creating background blur that draws attention to the photographic subject. The lens construction includes UD and aspherical elements, which deliver impressive image quality throughout the entire zoom range. A 3-stop Image Stabilizer ensures shake free shots and clear, crisp images, even in dim light. With a Ring-type USM, inner focusing and new AF algorithms, this lens achieves autofocus quickly and quietly, and with full-time mechanical manual focusing, manually adjusting the focus is possible even in AF mode. Other key features of the Canon EF-S 17-55mm F/2.8 IS USM lens include minimum focusing distance of just 35cm, 77mm filer diameter, ultrasonic motor for fast, near-silent auto focus and a circular 7-blade diaphragm which helps produce attractive background blur.

The lens was at least as good as described. I can't find any flaws at all. It has all of the parts and it looks like it just came of out the box. The seller shipped the item within a couple of hours of my purchase. I didn't check what time it was in Japan when he shipped it but it was really fast. The item was very well packed and arrived without issue and within a couple of days. I am completely happy with the purchase and the seller. I would not hesitate to buy from them again

Hammer-Zoom für APS-Kameras
Für mich in der APS-Liga von Canon das Top-Zoom im Universalbereich. Perfekte Scharfstellung, gute Farben und Kontraste, einfach ein Traumteil und auf meinen APS-Kameras immer dabei. Selbst das sehr gute neue STM-Standardzoom geht da nicht mit. Nachteil: Größe und Gewicht. Betrachtet man aber den Spielraum, den einem die Öffnung von 2.8 bietet und die Bildqualität, kommt man im Canon-Lineup an der Linse nur mit Schmerzen vorbei. Dipl.-Ing. J. This is a great all-around lens.
If you want to upgrade to something better than the stock lens, this is a great buy. Its pricey, because it's a 2.8, and while not an "L" Series lens, it still offers superb image quality within the standard focal length. I use it for long trips and generally for everything else, especially in the winter months when the lighting gets less than ideal. The motor is fast for focusing, and it seldom has any focus errors (i.e. focusing on the wrong point). I do believe it works better with the T6i than the T5, but its so much more responsive, than the kit lens. And it's got the lower focal length that the 28-135 doesn't, so you don't have to back up when your in too close. Amazingly enough this one is nearly similar to the 16-35mm IS II. I've owned both, and I kept this one, as paying ... If you want to upgrade to something better than the stock lens, this is a great buy. Delivery if the lens had me on tenter hooks, but eventually the parcel made it's way to my door. Luckily it was tracked; otherwise I'd have given up a month ago. Enough about logistics. It is a great lens. I've played around with it a bit and saw it is sharp enough to catch decent sharp images of my 3 year old playing with the camera. The only point worth noting; at wide openings the camera's in-built flash (77D) throws shadows on the photo due to the large lens diameter. An external flash solved this at wide angles. At longer focus lengths the in-built flash gave no shadows. Delivery if the lens had me on tenter hooks, but eventually the parcel made it's way to my door. Versatile and Sharp
The Canon EF-S 17-55mm lens is a very nice fast lens. I've shot a lot of candid performance still images and video and a wedding reception/dance in difficult and varying lighting and this lens has performed remarkably well. With a Canon 7D Mii in servo focus mode it works very well.
