Product Information

Nintendo's popular pink puffball, with an unassuming grin and a voracious appetite, returns in a new form in Kirby's Epic Yarn. After eating a strange tomato planted by the evil wizard Yin-Yarn, Kirby is transformed into yarn and sucked into a dimension where everything is made of colourful fabric. Kirby quickly befriends Prince Fluff, and the duo agrees to head off after Yin-Yarn to foil his malevolent plans. The new dimension has removed Kirby's ability to ingest enemies and absorb their abilities, but the classically styled side-scrolling action still finds him bounding and floating through levels. The pliable nature of the yarn lets Kirby lasso enemies, throw objects, and swing from grapple points. Kirby's Epic Yarn is designed to offer two-player co-op action, with the second player taking on the role of Prince Fluff. Both characters can completely transform into a variety of different objects, including a surfing penguin, a destructive brick, and a submarine, and the duo can combine to transform into a massive robot that fires missiles and bats down enemies with a huge boxing glove. Each level contains three secret treasure chests, as well as a large number of colourful beads. Many secret areas can be accessed by unzipping two pieces of cloth, tunnelling through fluffy cotton, or yanking a loose thread. Beads earn players higher scores and medals at the end of the stage, while the treasure chests and medals open up new levels to explore.

Packaging could have been a bit more robust as the case seemed more damaged than it showed in the picture so I think it got battered a bit in the post but I have a spare case so not a problem.     Hidden gem

    When people say the Wii only has lightweight family fodder, have clearly not played this game. Great and unusual art, great story (very Nintendo), and some of the coolest moves for a game (you can pull material back and crawl under it!). OK, some people may say it's extremely cute, but they may have also thought Lego Star Wars was childish, when it is actually a brilliant game, so if you have a Wii, and like platformers with a difference, this should tick a lot of boxes.

    Fun and imaginative yarn-based character game

    My 9 yr old loves this game. The yarn Kirby is a brilliant idea. Lots of imagination and creativity in the game's different levels and plenty of different challenges to keep you entertained. The fact that you can't die makes the game much more fun and satisfying.
