The title aptly emphasises Gill's aloneness + vulnerability when extracted from the bomb site + emphasises her humanity + her extraordinary survival
This book represents an incredible story of huge courage in adversity and represents inspiring reading. It is told in such a way that the reader feels totally present in the moment and experiences every fine detail of what happened to Gill as if it were happening to themselves.
