When temperatures rise above an optimal threshold, the Thermal Guard automatically throttles temperatures down protecting your data while maintaining responsiveness to ensure your computer is always safe from overheating. In three simple steps the Samsung's One-stop Install Navigator software easily allows you to migrate all the data and applications from the existing primary storage to the 850 EVO. The Samsung Magician software also allows you to optimize and manage your system best suited for your SSD. Samsung is the only SSD brand to design and manufacture all its components in-house allowing complete optimized integration. The result - enhanced performance, lower power consumption with an up to 1 GB LPDDR2 DRAM cache memory and improved energy-efficiency with the MEX/MGX controller.

Small, lightweight , no moving parts & is fast
Very, very fast start up, used to take between 4-5 mins , now takes about 25 seconds. I had a 250Gb model & went up to this 500Gb & very pleased. Samsung is a quality product & with the software provided makes migration of old hard drive easy. I will never go back to the old hard drive with spinning disc .

I received my order only a few days after buying it. The packaging could of been better because I only received brown paper in box that was clearly too big for the product. It came in the original packaging as advertised. I bought the SSD to replace my old 120GB Kingston SSD that I got about 4-5 years ago at a similar price. I'm probably only going to use it to run the operating system. But due to the fact that it's running at about 1/4 to 1/3 capacity it will probably last a really long time, because it will have plenty of spare NAND flash to act as a buffer. I now believe that I don't need another system SSD for a very long time. The installation and migration could of gone a lot smoother. Be sure to update the migration software otherwise it won't work. Why didn't I do it sooner!
I was most impressed by the speed of delivery. As for the product, I had confidence in ordering it because of the Brand ant reputation and, to date, it is doing what I expected of it. It is certainly much faster than the previous HDD. I keep all my photos etc., on an external HDD so 500GB as opposed to the 1TB HDD is no great loss. Great value for money. P.S. Fitting it was a doddle - even a 5 year old could do it let alone a 76 year old!I was most impressed by the speed of delivery. Fantastic!
Cant believe the difference in speed! Was thinking of buying a new pc now mine is 8 years old. Fitted this, (the changeover was simple) and it has given my pc a new lease of life. So ,instead of spending 100`s on a new one I paid £97 for this 500gb drive. An absolute bargain!

This is my Second Drive
I purchased a refurnished laptop with a standard 500GD hard drive. I replaced that slow hard drive with this Samsung SSD drive and boot up and shut down times went from 10 seconds to almost immediate. The drive is super fast and accessing files like pictures are almost instantaneous. If you want to upgrade your laptop to become a much faster machine, this inexpensive purchase alone will dramatically change your performance experience of the laptop. After purchasing the first one to replace the drive of my present laptop, I also did the upgrade to my wife's laptop which had a slower processor and less memory and discovered the same fast performance difference on her laptop. Note that the SSD drive comes with migration software which makes cloning the old laptop to the new drive painless.I purchased a refurnished laptop with a standard 500GD hard drive.
