This boxed set contains the SLEEPAWAY CAMP trilogy, a series that began with a movie that has unfairly been lumped in with 1980s slasher movies like FRIDAY THE 13TH and others of its ilk. However, SLEEPAWAY CAMP is truly the work of a twisted mind and largely devoid of the two staples of the genre, gratuitous nudity and gore, eschewing them in favor of hints of incest, transsexuality, and homoeroticism, creating a far more disturbing atmosphere. Its sequels, however, are a different story. They are, in fact, somewhat standard 1980s fare and as such offer up lots of gratuitous nudity, bad haircuts, worse dialog, and a number of celebrity siblings in starring roles (Pamela Springsteen, Renee Estevez) that help make them entertaining in their own right.

Even though the banned cover is typically more expensive than the re-released version, the outer cover alone is worth it. All contents are the same but the bloody handprints make it stand out in a collection.
