TV EARS
The TV Ears system seems at first to be of rather 'cheesy' in construction. However, having used these systems for years I would say that they work great. But don't expect them to last a lifetime. They will stop working suddenly, or the earpieces will break off, or the expensive and awkward battery system in the headphones will die. But the truth is that they help tremendously in hearing the TV more clearly than turning the volume up to a point that disturbs the neighbors. There is vast room for improvement in this product and I think the company is just not really interested in taking their products to a truly higher level, most likely because of price issues. I believe the current retail pricing for this product is quite high for what you get but it works, and that alone to many people (me included) is worth the cost. I would suggest aggressively searching for deals on this unit and especially on Ebay, but be cautious am make sure you purchase one that is a complete set and as unused as possible. One note of caution: the earlier units were analog, and the newer units are digital. The main difference is in the connecting plugs that attach to the TV. Analog units have only RCA jacks, which is the technical term for two little pointy things. Most flat screen TVs don't have this type of connection. The newer Digital TV Ears units have the newer digital (optical) connections that work with all newer flat screen TVs. Make sure when you are looking at buying an older TV Ears that the connection will work with the TV you have or it will be useless to you. Also if you are buying a new TV and have an existing TV Ears be sure that your Ears are compatible with the new TV or you will have to be prepared to buy a new set of TV Ears.

No More Wife Yelling At Me! Nice
The TV Ears allows me to hear the television with out everyone else yelling at me that the TV is up too loud. I hated that. Now they tell me to turn it up for them. Big reversal. The headset works well and is comfortable to wear. I normally fall asleep with it on in the wee hours of the night. Expect about 4 hours of good clean sound between charges. The sound isn't as good as surround or movie theater sound but it does the job for me and that's what counts. I wasn't disappointed at all. Life is now better. Thanks TV Ears.

Works well for volume but improvement in design would be useful.
Volume control is too "touchy", needs to have more control. By turning the control only a small amount and you can easily have way too much volume. A "clicker" type control would be more desirable. Works only when in direct view of control box so if you move around much you will loose sound. No quick trips to the refrigerator or to the bathroom! Weight of unit as suspended from your ears is not a problem but do not find earbuds to be comfortable for a good fit.

TV-EARS makes for a happy wife
Was packaged well and came with good user instructions. After the 14 hour charge it was easy to set up and use. Sound quality was good. Tone adjustment control was used as needed to improve program sound. Battery charge seemed to go down sooner then I thought it should. I suggest that a second set of ear pads be included with future orders. I ruined one pad making initial fit adjustments. TV - EARS is a great product and my wife is happy with our TV sound level now.

TV Ears fix
Item purchased to repair/fix a broken TV Ears arm. Item was a perfect fit and made the repair effective. Great value and now I have a source for additional repair parts when needed.

Be careful of what you buy
Totally hasn't worked. I purchased this a year ago for an elderly woman who turned 100 years old last year, and has trouble hearing. I thought this would be a great gift for her. I gave it to the home she lives at so they could set it up for her. When they finally had time to hook it up, they told me that it wouldn't work so I took it back. Long story short, I finally tried it myself, a year later. We have our own system purchased through Costco which has worked wonderfully for over two years. Since I am familiar with TV Ears, I finally decided see if I could figure out the problem. Well, I realized the problem why it doesn't work; it totally won't sit properly in the base to charge. It is a much older unit than the one we purchased two years ago so it is not compatible with ours. So all that money out the window. Since it has been so long since I purchased it, I don't expect anything in return, but would be happy if I could recoup some of the money I spent on it.

Tv ears do not work.
I can not get the tv ears to work. The batteries are no good. I was informed be the manufacturer that the batteries only have a shelf life of 4 months. And eBay will not guarantee the tv ears. I ordered new batteries and the new batteries have not arrived in over 2 weeks.

Seems to work fine. Can hear TV without bothering wife.
Only have one problem so fat, I do not like the foam ear pieces as I find them uncomfortable. I prefer the smooth silicone ear pieces for comfort and fit. I want to purchase some extra silicone ear pieces if I can find a supplier.

Good product!
Really helps if you’re hard of hearing or live in a noisy environment. It’s very easy to install & use. I’ve had several over the years. The headsets are interchangeable between both analog & digital models.

No work on all TVs
Problem = ordered to use on a Sansui TV. Not work. Called manufacture - he looked up my model and informed me according to what he could find they were not compatible. They might be good if paired with a different TV. Of course since bought through ebay - considered Used even tho new - so warranty is not applicable.
