patrick stewart and his ghouls shine!
who knew that the man behind professor xavier and jean luc picard would someday fly through space and time, to haunt with a trio of spirits? but not until a fearful encounter with the chain-rattling jaw-dropping apparition of his former colleague and business partner, jacob marley. this ghastly tale is brought to us with Hallmark's high standards for solid writing, strong characters portrayed by extraordinarily talented actors, crisp editing, all amidst sets and score sufficient to seduce us into "suspending our disbelief." patrick stewart embodies the role of ebeneezer scrooge with an ease and an honesty unseen for long ages past. richard e grant is the quintessential bob cratchit, and joel grey is the unsurpassed ghost of Christmas past. if you or yours love dicken's Christmas carol, or if you love patrick stewart, you will not want to miss this version of the classic fable. this heartwarming presentation just may earn a special place in your collection. and that's no humbug!

A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart and others is our favorite one!
A Christmas Carol with Partick Stewart and others was our favorite to date.This was the most realistice one and we rather enjoyed every moment. It was the most pleasing and touching Christmas Carol We loved every part of it. The music was wonderful and the actors were the best. This was done with perfection and grace. If you don't know which one to get and you can only afford one, pick this one. It is calming, joyful, sad, happy and teaches the meaning of the Christmas spirit. Having respect for others and caring in a responsible manner throughout the year was carefullly touched upon. This is the best one ever made. It is the most realistic and easy on the eyes and hearts for children and still gets the message across with divine ease. Love, Love, Love.

A Christmas Carol (1999) DVD Patrick Stewart
The BEST adaptations of A Christmas Carol! This story is more inline with the original Dickinson story. Despite a few phase mistakes like when Scrooge tells Bob Cratchit he'll lose his "job" if late the day after Christmas. The right word would have been "his position". Or when he tells his nephew he is a good "speaker" and should go into Parliament. He should have said he is a good "Orator". Otherwise this is the only version you should watch. The Christmas day spent with the Cratchit family is worth it alone! Outstanding! I wish that they would bring it out in Blu-Ray.

Great version of the classic story. Probably my favorite, or at least second favorite, of the many versions that have been made.
After years of trying to fond this version on TV or available online, I decided it would be easier if I owned it. Good price, quick shipping, and now I have it easily available every Christmas!

Not the best Christmas Carol
Nice production, good acting, but too bad Patrick Stewart had to retain his skinhead, which seemed out of place in Victorian England. Also they inserted some short scenes in Christmas Present that didn't contribute much except disrupt the flow of the story. So I prefer the original or the Mr. Magoo version or the George C. Scott version to this one. It was a little better than the one with Jim Carrey, which was modified (more action) due to the 3D format and characters were distorted with CGI.

One of my favorite versions of Scrooge.
I’m a big fan of The Christmas Carol and this is one of my favorite versions of it. I’m also a fan of Patrick Stewart. The movie is very well done throughout and of good production value.

A move for the whole family.
This is a GREAT movie for anyone who likes Charles Dickens's a Christmas carol. Patrick Stewart does a wonderful job as Ebeneezer Scrooge. It is truly a movie the whole Family will enjoy for years to come.

Christmas Classic
Received in perfect condition. Enjoyed it the same evening. Not my favorite interpretation of Mr Scrooge, but wanted to have this version to compare to others I have.
