A Wonderful Series! A fun to watch.
I've long been a fan of Gothic Horror, almost all my life and love all things Victorian, and this has both. A clever and insightful way to reinvent the classic old stories into fresh and engaging story lines, With all the older characters of the classic horror fiction, this show is a deeper look into their back stories, ( with embellishments as well ) you'll understand that they are not the Monsters that you'd think they'd be. You'll see the tragedy behind who and why they are, and even empathize with their stories, with twists and turns of course. My Wife and I have watched this show from season one ( She blames me for her love for stories such as these ) She and I look forward to the new season of Penny Dreadful coming in the spring, I will say that these are however not for children, they have very adult themes in nature and visuals, also it pulls deeply from the occult, so if you have a deep religious background and could be offended by such things then this series is not for you. Overall It's very well put together, well scripted and acted, a perfect way to fall in love with the classic horror fiction all over again!

penny dreadful season two
I loved this season two better than season one ( and I liked season one. ) The witches were deliciously horrifying and sinister. I loved the unfolding of the story and the development of the characters, the insightful and deep conversations as well as the beautiful photography that sets the mood. The acting is superb and makes the unbelievable totally believable, no easy feat with all those different monsters. Well done, Showtime! I am so looking forward to season three. Ellen T.

Creepy love!
Great new characters, historical personalities, and those memorable classic ones blended together in a wonderful Victorian tale. I love the story, great acting, sets and atmosphere are the tops, production fantastic! Watch it, but, maybe not on a dark and stormy night, unless you like being frightened! Can't wait for more!!'

Too much unnecessary sex...
otherwise, this would be a pretty decent series. Unfortunately, the characters are mostly unlikable, and the monster scenes are too few. Gratuitous sex scenes abound... not needed for the story at all. The series has it's moments, and reminds one of the film League of Extraordinary Gentlemen... which is better than this series, but not by much. The dvd sets would be worth buying if they were around 5-7 dollars a season, but they just aren't worth what they cost now. All in all, three stars is what I give this series (thus far, anyway) because it's worth watching at least once... if you want to pay the price of the sets, of course.

Great Price...Fast Delivery!
This is a gift so, I don't know what it will look like on screen. But, I usually buy my movies on Amazon and they wanted $35.00. I looked on EBay , picked this site from all the reviews, read the entire description, and made a good choice. It also was delivered really quickly . I will be buying from here again!

Penny Dreadful season 2
I thought that Penny Dreadful's first season was really good , but Season 2 was even better. The way the characters are portrayed are unique and never expected. It is a new twist on the old classics only the monsters personalities are more developed and almost loveable....well, not all are loveable. The witches are mean and evil.

Great TV show
It's one of the TV series you wished would never end. It was great to see the every day life. So sorry now when traveling to the South Pacific never got to New Zealand Weld is my kind of hometown

Ever Better: I only dread when it's not on....
Not much to say. I'm busy watching it again. I think season two outdid season one. Can't wait for season three but I'm sorry it may be a shorter, or possibly the last... season.

Penny Dreadfull season 2
This is a fantastic Dvd,the show is Amazingly done. The characters and the Acting is superb !! Dvd was of good quality the stories In this series is like no other. Great Show.

Came early, fantastic show!
Thank you very, VERY much! This is one of my favorites and I've been dying to catch up. It came yesterday before work (3 days early) and was a wonderful motivator to get through the day :)
