    Great transaction, exactly as described, packed well, and promptly shipped on August 6th. Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service took 23 calendar days to deliver the book. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville.     A comprehensive history of hallucinogenic plants

    This book is an update of its 1979 version so that more recent research into the properties of hallucinogenic plants could be included. This is a comprehensive presentation of various topics related to these plants-- how long people have used them; how, where and why they used them; photographs of the plants; the names they go by; their context and purpose and their chemical components and effects. It is an excellent reference book.

    A unique and culturally important study

    A gorgeously illustrated and illuminating volume that dives deeply into ethnobotany, the contemporary relevance of plants that heal and provoke enhance consciousness, and the ways shamans deploy them. Mark Plotkin’s podcasts and books are a great compliment to this masterpiece by et al.
