Synopsis
A teen girl hiding the scars of a past relationship finds home and healing in the words of strong Black writers. A beautiful sophomore novel from a critically acclaimed author and poet that explores how words have the power to shape and uplift our world even in the midst of pain. When Darius told Angel he loved her, she believed him. Angel feels out of sync with the rhythms of her new neighborhood. At school, she can't shake the feeling everyone knows what happened--and how it was her fault. The only place that makes sense is Ms. G's class. And as Angel becomes immersed in her revolutionary literature course, the words of Black writers like Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, and Zora Neale Hurston speak to her and begin to heal the wounds of her past. Award-winning author Mahogany L. Browne weaves together prose, poems, and vignettes to tell the story of Angel, a young woman whose past was shaped by domestic violence but whose love of language and music and the gift of community grant her the chance to find herself again., A teen girl hiding the scars of a past relationship finds home and healing in the words of strong Black writers. - v***v (17)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufSeller responded quickly to all questions, but it took a week to ship and another 10 days for delivery. The item matches the description, so if shipping time is not critical, this seller can be recommended.
- a***h (26)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufThe book was competitively priced, ordering was easy, the book was well packaged and arrived safely, and its condition was exactly as specified. The delivery time from ordering to mailbox was a little long (14 days), but overall it was a good experience and I would use this seller again. The Anglo-Saxons Format: General/trade (Nr. 364636024820)
- 1***b (472)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufThe condition and value of the book are 100% wonderful. My only disappointment was with the shipping process , the item was only shipped after I conveyed my displeasure that the book did not leave their facility for a week. They were unapologetic, by the time I told them to cancel the order, they informed me that it was on it's way, but shipping information did not support it.
