Featuring a 16-bit A/D converter, this Nikon scanner converts images to digital pictures. With a high-quality 3-line CCD sensor, this Nikon film scanner captures precise digital images at increased scan rates. The scan image enhancer feature of the Nikon Super Coolscan 9000 ED automatically adjusts the brightness and color saturation of pictures with maximum contrast. Quickly transfer images on to this Nikon scanner via the high-speed IEEE 1394 interface. This Nikon film scanner’s improved rod dispersion LED illumination produces scans with accurate color reproduction and sharp images.

Better than sending your scanner to Nikon
Before sending my Nikon 9000 to eclecticmusic101, the scans I was getting from it weren't terrible, but I was definitely having issues with reduced contrast and that brownish blooming that happens around frame edges and other high-contrast areas on color negatives. Before buying this service, my scanner wasn't ejecting the film trays properly. I had sent it to Nikon TWICE and there never fixed the problem completely. Nikon never cleaned the scanner's optics, even though I asked them to do so. On top of all that, Nikon will charge more than twice as much for their subpar service. Ever since I got my scanner back from eclecticmusic101, it scans like I just bought it--great color and contrast, no weird noises, no more stuck trays, just scanning bliss. eclecticmusic101 will keep your Nikon ... works great
paired with a little imac running os x ( downgraded from 10.5) , nikon scan 4.02 and photoshop cs1 :) acquire scan , transfer files to a network drive and process on a more modern mac . Running this and optifilm 120 mainly for 120 film and occasional 35mm.. film is back!

Pleasantly surprised how well this works.
Using it with Vuescan software. Took a couple days to master. Would have bought this years ago if I had known how well it works.
