    Function over form.

    It's a bit of a good and bad reaction to these scales, on the one hand I like that they are big and substantially made, giving the confidence of the scales one sees and uses in the dotors surgery but at the same time they are big and substantially made taking up valuable space in a small bathroom and being more industrial than aesthetically pleasing. But I've had stylish scales before and they weren't that reliable, so this time I've gone for the more utilitarian in the hope it will give better service. Another point is meccanical over electronic; electronic displays are easier to read but become more and more unreliable with age and uses. Cheaper meccanical can wear out quick but these being substantially made should last longer but with the dial on the floor it's hard to read the scale ...

    excellent quality. I don't get weighed ,got them for hubby every time he goes to doctors for check up they ask his weight . he seems happy, the grandchildren love them always checking weight .nice looking set of scales .overall brilliant

    good clear dial. appears to weigh correctly. (purchased a digital scale (Salter make) a while ago but if you got on and weighed then got off then back on it gave a different reading every time and you couldn't rely on it to weigh you correctly.
