Film Noir at its best.
I probably cannot say anything about this film that hasn't been said before. As a Dashiell Hammett and film fan, this production deserves all the accolades it has been given. Bogart is at the top of his game. Film Noir at its best!

Classic
The Maltese Falcon is stuff dreams are made of, lacking only Lauren Bacall. Just image great writing, acting, and cinematography without the intrusion of CGI and SFX. It is more like bringing a novel to the screen than making a movie of a SciFi comic book.

Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade. This film is the classic Bogart performance. This is the origin of the hard-boiled detective movie. Based on the novel by the masterful Dashiel Hammett. It is the directorial debut of John Huston. It’s just a fabulous story, perfectly adapted to the screen.
