Unmissable set
There's not much to be said about this set. Clara Haskil was one of the greatest pianists of any time and this box demonstrates that fact. Apart from Markevitch, she is accompanied by lesser-known conductors who manage well enough, but I often wonder how much different the end result would have been under higher profile conductors. Her collaborations with Grumiaux are well known and are here in the box, and her Mozart is peerless. They have crammed 17 CDs and a booklet into a standard box that normally holds 10 CDs, so although it is bulgy, it saves space! Unmissable.
