GALAXY QUEST is a satirical comedy that pokes fun at the influence science fiction shows such as STAR TREK have had on their audience. The cast members of the cult sci-fi television series GALAXY QUEST now earn their livings appearing at conventions and grand openings, led by their bombastic captain Jason Nesmith, played by Tim Allen. When an alien race--the Thermians--arrives on earth, it appears that they have mistakenly appropriated the show's culture as their own, thinking the series was actual fact. Desperate for help in battling the evil General Sarris, they bring the actors with them into space to save their planet. A surprisingly smart and funny send-up of the science-fiction culture and the influence television has on the world at large, GALAXY QUEST is a comedy that even nongenre fans can enjoy, with terrific turns by Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell, and Tony Shalhoub.

A SUPER-FANTASTIC movie, "Galazy Quest," with Tim Allen!!!!
"Galaxy Quest" is one of the BEST movies I've EVER watched!!! To me, this movie is right up there with "Airplane!" and "True Lies!!!" I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! You see Tim Allen in this movie...just like the character "Tim the Tool Man!" Floating on his own image! The "Galaxy Quest" took A LOT of imagination to write but as you watch it, the movie becomes BELIEVABLE!!! I watch this EVERY TIME it comes on TV!!! O pop this DVD in all other times!!! Like I said, this is a WONDERFUL MOVIE and I LOVE it!!!! Just watch it once and you'll feel the same!!!! THANK YOU, 1HALLMARK!!!!

Love Star Trek? Love this.
This has been one of my favorite movies of all time. I have been a Trekkie since the first TV series. So if you like Star Trek (especially the earlier shows) you should love the fun parody and campiness of this movie. Even Patrick Stewart liked it! A classic.

Great comedy!!
This has some great crazy humor in it running alongside the more serious plot, very well done! Supposedly a new one is in the works, so this will get you ready for it!!
