A few scenes will be remembered
The plot: An employee from the city is looking for another missing employee when he discovers that his fellow employee has been murdered by hillbillies looking for stolen money hidden on family property. I was never a big fan of Ma and Pa Kettle because I felt that it labeled have-nots in too negative a light. I know its popular to view hicks, hillbillies, and the poor as negative, but I see them mostly as positive, just poor. I digress... As for Fred MacMurray, I like everything he has ever done and think he was one of the most versatile actors. Maybe its because, at one point, he was the highest paid actor in Hollywood, which made it possible for him to get the roles in movies he wanted to be in. In any case, he never disappoints. Its too bad that not many other actors were given that opportunity. This movie takes you back to a time when dialog was important to writers. No relying on special effects, cursing, gratuitous violence or vivid sex. There's a plot and the dialog does not divert you to the point that the writers can't even keep up with their twists and turns, which causes dissatisfaction and feelings of waisted time. A few very funny scenes in this film will cause you to laugh out loud. So, if you know someone who could use a laugh, this will do it. This is not only a funny film that will store one or two scenes in your long term memory, but its also a good lesson on how to write sensical dialog.

Hysterically funny!
I had seen this movie on TV years ago and it is hysterically funny when you are in a goofy mood. The DVD is in excellent condition as far as reviewing it goes, the movie is black and white, just silly and funny, read IMDB for plot. Fred is a riot!

"over-the-top" performance, a fast-paced farce and very enjoyable
This DVD/movie, "Murder, he Says", is a mirthful murder/search for hidden money in a back-woods setting tale; and if you enjoyed Gary Grant in "Arsenic and Old Lace", you will love this movie. Good character actors, lots of action, and loaded with laughs. I enjoyed this movie and believe you will too.
