Great story a precursor to our war in Viet-Nam!
Great Story in the fight against communism, I knew a Waffen SS Sargent who said the French came to his POW camp after the war looking for Volunteers for this Legion, The ones who did Volunteer were the guys who could not return home because the Russian Communists occupied their home areas!

A good study of tactical "Warfare" for the student.
Quite an amazing tail. It just goes to show that if you are willing to do what needs to be done you can win on a tactical level. The brave germans have been doing that from Waterloo to the gates of Stalingrad to Vietnam.
