2004 remake of 1978 TV series
In this 2004 remake of the original 1978 TV series, the Cylons have evolved from being purely robots to exactly resemble humans. In the original series, they were just very intelligent robots. In this version, they are played as humans, presumably to save on the cost of the costumes! This DVD contains a set of episodes that play as one continuous film which sets the stage for the subsequent 2010 series set of 25 disks that you have to order separately. The plot is basically the same as the original series. The humans are devastated by a surprise attack from the Cylons who drive them from their planet, Caprica. It is all quite entertaining twaddle and a must-have for the sci-fi addict!

An engaging sort of long pilot to that sets you up nicely for series one. Watch this first.
I decided to watch the rebooted Battlestar Galactica, about 20 years after it was rebooted! The mini-series gets you into the story line and it is best to watch this before season one. Otherwise you start episode one, series one and it says previously on Battlestar Galactica. Then you miss the detail that the mini series gives you. Enjoyable, a series with depth, character, interesting plot and action. Not to be written off as just some sci-fi, spacey thing.

Great serial
Being a shorter version of Galactica ,and after seeing all the series you're missing out on a lot of good action . So yes buy if you want but do buy the full series and be engrossed.

Great Series.
I have always wanted to see this series and have found the DVD, The Mini Series very good and sets the tone for the whole of the rest of Battlestar Galactica.

2003 galactica.
Watch this disc first. The series makes more sense. Good character changes and good special effects. Enjoyed this disc in one sitting.

100% Great and magnificent.
A very original presentation. Very smart and unusual. This astounding production is ideally suited for what was/and still is an incredible science fiction saga which stands amongst the very best of its ilk. I am joyous to have it.
