Quite compelling
Written quite well by a veteran who was there - the common soldiers view of that time and those battles. What caught my attention was his detail writing of his "buddies", its all about those men who are standing there at your elbow, sharing those good times and those bad times. Our history channel does not depict the Germans being pushed back from Russia, in such a raw manner, and the winter with its cold, and living it every day. I listened to Marines who had served in Korea and I listened to their stories, of the cold and the deaths in combat. A Good Re-read
