  • Hard to put down

No man knows my history is well written and easy to follow with compelling facts & some history lessons. It’s one of those books that is hard to put down from the 1st page until the last. This book should be required reading for anyone curious about Joseph Smiths life rather than being content with what you have been told. Highly recommend!!!!

  • This book is an historical piece that truly explores the life of Joseph Smith and thereby exposes the truth about the foundation of the LDS church.

If you have been visited by Mormon missionaries, or have ever wanted to know more about Latter Day Saints, this book is a must-read! What a scholarly work! But keep your dictionary handy! Excellent book.

  • Good title.

I haven't finished reading the book yet, but so far, I think Fawn Brodie presents an authentic picture of the character of Joseph Smith. Her writing style holds my attention.

  • Biography of Joseph Smith

Recommended reading for those who desire the big picture, rather than the narrow biased church account, of the life and times of Joseph Smith.

  • A typically weird American prophet

The life and sad ending of Mormon prophet Joseph Smith is a fascinating account of an ordinary American who through sheer force of will with the help of his family conjured up a new variety of Christianity. Through trial, error and many failed attempts he succeeded in convincing a gullible public hungry for a utopia to live in that he was the voice of God.

  • Very well researched & well written

The LDS church has given this book a bad rap - be it is very well researched & well written.
