Another Great Logitech Package, Works Very Well With Linux!
We recently migrated away from microsoft on all three of our computers. The only m.s. items I had left to get rid of was an old wired keyboard and mouse set. We are now a totally Linux environment, running Mint 19.2.
I have used Logitech products for many years so naturally searched for replacements among their products.
I wanted something wireless that was wide enough so I wouldn’t feel cramped but sleek enough to use up as little space as possible. I also wanted the palm rest and just the right layout of the keys on the right side.
After lots of research, I selected the MK540. There wasn’t a lot of information online for Linux usage with this package . I turned to the Linux forums that, while the MK540 wasn’t named specifically, had a lot of positive feedback for other MK packages. It was enough to convince me to take a chance and I’m glad I did.
The keyboard and mouse work perfectly! The keys are real smooth with rounded corners, just what I was looking for. There's no lag as has been reported on other Logitech items with Linux, and I type about 120 wpm.
The mouse was a bit more sensitive than I was used to, but then I think that was just the old microsoft crapola. Like anything else new, it felt like home in a few days.
Thankfully, I am now rid of the last microsoft items in my entire office setup.
