Amazing machine with reasonable learning curve
The Brother KX-350 is an amazing machine with a learning curve. This cleverly designed machine allows you to knit on up to 130 needles at a single pass. The needles themselves are like latch hooks, if you remember those from the old days. I made a 48" (XXL) v-neck vest for my brother in worsted wool in just a couple of hours on the machine. It can handle increases and decreases through the use of a little hand manipulation tool. All it needs is mattress stitch up the sides to finish. It really appears to be handknit and my hands are very grateful for the break. My particular purchase was a 1987 model with all the parts and manuals, which helped significantly. There are also good videos online to help you get started. If you decide to purchase one of these, know up front that unless stated otherwise, YOU the BUYER will need to replace the sponge bar which supports the needles. It's not as bad as you think and, barring any other mechanical problems, your machine will run like brand new when you finish that operation. You can find a seller here on eBay for the sponge bar (less than $10). Be prepared to make your own patterns, but that can be fun. Your tension swatch will guide your designs and you will have some ups and downs as you get started. An intermediate level knitter with an interest in something different would probably love the KX-350 adventure. Have fun!

major project
this has been a great fun project for me. this vintage knitting machine is wonderful, but you have to be able to take it apart, replace the sponge bar, clean all the needles, then you're able to start using it :-)

Like new.
Even though the machine is 30 years old, it looks and works like it’s brand new. It is easy to operate the the knitting is so even.

I really like my Brother KX-350
I have put in a new sponge, I haven't put the needles back into it yet, so I haven't used it. I am assuming it will work great when I get ready to use it. Thanks

Good starter machine
The machine works well. Needed some minor cleaning, several needles and the sponge had to be replaced. All in all the machine was in fairly good condition. Didn't realize it at first but the yarn clip was missing but easily found one and replaced as well. All in all the machine is working well.

Just fine!

Knitting
Got my machine cleaned the needles and installed a new sponge. It works like a new mackine. The reason I got this one was for the larger gauge. Works well with my 4 worsted yarn.

Glad I Found It at Ebay!
I owned a Brother's Knitting Machine several years ago. I simply loved it; however, it was destroyed in a flood in my basement sewing room. I was very happy when I discovered this machine at Ebay. The machine was delivered quickly and was just like the one I previously owned. It is in good condition, and I look forward to enjoying it.
