Product Information

Nintendo DS proprietors are invited to check into the Hotel Dusk, an old-fashioned mansion where guests are either unwilling or unable to leave. Former policeman Kyle Hyde travels to 1979 Los Angeles to locate a friend who was last seen in room 215, a room cryptically described as "where wishes are granted." What follows is a graphic adventure that involves hunting for clues and solving an assortment of puzzles to determine the whereabouts of Hyde's friend. The game is played with the handheld positioned like a book, with the left screen depicting 3D views of the environment and the right screen displaying an overhead perspective used to move around. Dialogue sequences and cut-scenes feature stylistic, black-and-white graphics to evoke a noirish atmosphere.

    The tracking number for this shipment wasn't great, it took days after the product had been shipped for the tracking number to begin working. Shipment was also a few days later than expected. Packaging was great. Product came as descripted except that the SD card which was supposed to come with it was missing. Seller has very good communication.

    slow

    You have to use the stylus for nearly everything, even walking, which is tiresome. It would be nice to have that as an option, since the ds has buttons. The story progresses very slowly. You don't really get the option to think or make your own choices, you are pretty much led to each clue--but if you miss a clue, which is easy to do, you can get lost and spend a lot of frustrating time trying to figure out where you went wrong. If you attempt to access a clue before it is the right time, nothing happens, so then later when you need it, you don't go to it because you think it is not a clue, so you waste time. Story is interesting but game play is boring. The "puzzles" are way too easy with tons of clues telling you what to do. I wish they let you figure them out first, then if you ...

    Good mystery nintendo game

    A bit on the pricy side for the amount of content but nevertheless good value for the whole mystery genre on the Nintendo DS, especially for those who like myself have played Last Window before. Good story of course and intriguing puzzles but that is to be expected from CiNG(developer that made the game). Graphics are well, Nintendo DS graphics, but if you are buying this, or any old DS game for that matter, you aren't buying it for the graphics anyway. Really nice and unique art style though.

    Visual novel turned point-and-click is surprisingly addictive.

    Not sure how much replay value this game has, but I loved the story so much! So intriguing and full of puzzles. Great for people who aren’t into typical games.

    Made my daughters throwback day!

    Daughter had game during childhood but never finished it. Could no longer find it after all these years. She was THRILLED to get a replacement in great condition! (Yes she already finished game)

    Nostalgia noire

    Really enjoy this detective esque puzzle game. I’ve not seen many games quite like it with the exception of certain point and click adventure games and it takes me back to a little Nintendo title called Deja Vu. Definitely a fun, albeit temporary escape from reality.
