The lenses also have a rounded seven-blade diaphragm for blurring areas out of focus. The Sigma DC 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 HSM DC OS lens also has auto zoom with an extended 13.9 range and a longer focal length of 18 to 250 millimeters. The lens aperture is F3.5-6.3, and the mini aperture is 22. The maximum magnification possible with the Sigma DC is 0.29x. The filter thread is 72 millimeters, which is ideal for filter users. A brass-made bayonet mount provides reinforcement and stability and the thermally stable composite material that it is built with minimizes the effect of temperature on the lens. There are three switches on the Sigma 18-250mm lens. The first one is a lock that prevents the lens barrel from accidentally extending and the second is to switch between auto-focus and manual focus.
