This is a live action with cgi sprinkled...
This is a live action with cgi sprinkled throughout the movie. Originally this movie was anime in the 1980’s Now it’s live action. The movie is good but a lot of holes in it. Had the people making this movie had one more hour a lot of the missing parts would no doubtedly been included. As is it’s still great.

Live action take on Star Blazers
Great visuals, battles, pretty good character development. Pretty basic mid level Japanese Sci Fi. Was dissapointed that the Gamalas were changed to artificial lifeforms. And the story was changed to save time and $$$ for sure. Ending was a bit drawn out and cliche' But all in all entertaining, and less critical children will enjoy it.

Anime brought to life very well
I'm not a huge anime fan, but I grew up on watching Starblazers cartoon. When I heard that they made a live action version, I was very skeptical but this was very very well done. Does not totally follow the cartoon but the action is good and the Yamoto just rocks. Highly recommend checking it out if you are a fan.

Good...
I enjoyed this film. Good writing, for the most part, Good story and well acted. Fine effects. A much better film then I expected when I bought it.

Live action meets anime
O.k. movie obviously not like the original anime, but entertaining enough. Lots of good scifi action.

THIS movie is basically a GIANT LOVE LETTER to both the original anime series and the ova movies that came with it!

Well made show. Much better than cartoon version.
Good job making show. Far better than the cartoon version. Settings and props were very good. Acting was very good . The CGI was well done. I was very impressed with the whole movie . My only complaint was I wanted it to last longer. Very well done.

Live action remake of the Manga series in a 2 hour movie format.
Enjoy the movie. It is interesting to see this as a real Sci-Fi movie vs Anime movie. Given they have to change the storyline so much when taking Anime to Live-Action, there were many changes from the original Manga series that had to be taken in order to fit within the time limits of a movie. Some were ok, some, well, that's why I like the original Manga series so much more. Anyway, it is still fun, entertaining and engaging. Worth the price!
