When it was released in 1980, "The Gods Must Be Crazy" was unlike any comedy the world had seen. South African director Jamie Uys presented a unique satire showing the differences between two cultures on the African continent. When a tossed out glass Coca-Cola bottle lands amid the San tribe in the Kalahari Desert, the foreign object becomes the catalyst for unexpected conflict and strife. "The Gods Must Be Crazy" was a massive international hit in the early 1980s, but it was out of print on video for years. However, this 2004 DVD is a way to own this cult classic to watch anytime, and it includes the documentary featurette "Journey to Nyae Nyae."

    Classic!

    This starts out slow, like an old documentary, but then very quickly it is apparent that it really isn't. The story and characters are fun and engaging. There is partial nudity, but it is culturally appropriate. The man that plays Stein is a master of physical comedy. Love this!

    One of the greatest cute plots I've ever watched.

    I've been searching for this movie for years for a good price, watched it about 25 years ago and loved it. Cute story, very light and entertaining. In the extras, it shows how the main character was picked for the part and how poorly he and his people actually live. He thought he could bring some prosperity to his neighbors by doing the movie. Well worth a watch.

    A very good title The God's must be crazy

    This a very funny movie where the little bushman did not know where the bottle came from. There is entertainment through all the scenes. Also, when the teacher fell in love with the man.

    Collecting Great Comedies while they are still available.!

    The Gods must be Crazy,, an old film which was hilarious , and we continued to want access to it. I feel lucky to have gotten the Cd, and plan to leave a legacy of great comedies to one of my Grandkids... Well worth the price.

    'The Gods are only Crazy, when you choose the Wrong One!

    Although made in the early 1980's, the life lessons are still as relevant today, if not more so. You have to listen carefully, as the accents and soundtrack can be a bit difficult to keep up with, but hey, when you watch it again, you'll get it. All the best, God Bless!
