My go-to favorite show
From the first episode of Series 1 of Doc Martin, I was hooked!! What a good series this is. I wish it would go on for many more years. He is a wonderful doctor with no bed-side manner. It's just the way he is - he doesn't even realize he's like that. To make it worse, he was a Chief Surgeon who developed a phobia to blood and couldn't operate anymore without puking and having panic attacks. The town has many colorful characters and the story lines just draw you right into them. He is always dressed in a suit and has ruined many of them tramping through the woods or slopping the hogs, etc. Good thing he has a closet full of replacements. Love Doc Martin!
The acting is superb, and I really enjoyed seeing this season. It's addictive, and I hate seeing it end. This was an especially good buy, too, a bargain compared to other outlets. I recently saw Martin Clunes on another show and would not have recognized him out of character. He makes this series! All the characters are well played, but he is incredible in this part. Beautiful scenery in Cornwall, interesting medical information in every episode, and an ongoing plot revolving around Martin's obvious Aspberger's Syndrome. It's never mentioned but he is classic, casebook Aspberger's, giving an interesting twist to his personality. Series 7 is the best!
Having watched every Doc Martin episode on netflix, we were in dire need of a "Doc Martin" fix. Saw series 7 here on Ebay, got a great deal and my wife and I watched most of the episodes flying from CA to VA. Not sure what the passengers thought, hearing us snickering and laughing out loud ! Can't wait for season 8. Should be coming out in 2017........ Totally love each and every character on this show. Just about the only show we got real hooked on. The End
If, for some reason, this series of Doc Martin ended now, I think I could be satisfied after seeing the last episode. Of course, l would miss Port Wenn and the characters who make it their home. Doc still has problems, but l hope he and Louisa are on the way to a better understanding and can work things out on their own. We have come to see why he is the way he is and it will be a challenge to change even a little.If, for some reason, this series of Doc Martin ended now, I think I could be satisfied after seeing the last episode. Doc Martin is my favorite TV series
I've been following it for a long time on PBS and finally decided to get the whole show from the beginning seasons 1-6, and watch it all in order starting with episode 1. Season 7 doesn't disappoint - the writers continue to amaze me with their dry British humor and the actors with their amazing performances. High caliber pure entertainment. They wrapped up some loose ends in season 6 storylines but I hope that's not an indication there won't be a Season 8.
