This second edition of the bestselling India before Europe covers the political developments and rich cultural life of the subcontinent from the twelfth through mid-eighteenth centuries in more depth than any other text. It explores art, architecture, material culture, literature, and religious movements, as well as trade and travel., India is a land of enormous diversity.
