Synopsis
This book was first printed in 1938, having been written as a Ph.D. thesis at Harvard in 1937. Our good friend, Peter Bernstein mentioned this book several times in his excellent Capital Ideas which was published in 1992. Why the book is interesting today is that it still is important and the most authoritative work on how to value financial assets. As Peter says: "Williams combined original theoretical concepts with enlightening and entertaining commentary based on his own experiences in the rough-and-tumble world of investment." Williams' discovery was to project an estimate that offers intrinsic value and it is called the 'Dividend Discount Model' which is still used today by professional investors on the institutional side of markets. Also, the book was delivered quickly from the USA to the UK. The price was "okay" for a rare and out-of-print book. However, one small point of constructive criticism: the packaging could have been a little bit better, in order to better protect the book in transit. The book was sent in a plastic/light bubble mailer only. It would have benefited greatly from cardboard packaging. Thank you for considering my suggestion.

The packaging unfortunately had small holes in it. I live in an area that is prone to intense rain and those holes could have caused problems. The weather has been dry, fortunately. The price was a bargain! I'll work with this vendor again in the future. Please, get more protective bags.
