The definitive work on workbenches
More than just how to build and use a bench, it covers history and lots of interesting stories. I bought it for the chapter on the Workmate history. The plans for building a few benches are excellent. It makes me want to get out to the shop.

Great Reference
Of the handful of books I have read concerning benches, this is the best! A variety of designs and styles to consider.

Disappointing!
This is mainly a history of workbenches from long ago. Most of the benches are massive and heavy. I was looking for ideas for building a modern versatile and portable bench. Not much help.
