Does it's job well.
This device is a must if you've spent a decent amount of cash on your audio system. It does exactly what it's suppose to do and it does it quick, easy and accurate. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that for $150 It would be nice if it also set crossovers accurately and maybe even had a volt and ohm meter because the way it is now after you set your gains, if you don't install for a living you will either store it away in a tool box or sell it at a discounted price. My system does sound awesome though with the peace of mind that no distortion is present.

SMD DD-1
This is a specialty tool that is used maybe a handful of times but is very handy when tuning your head unit and amplifier. Easy instructions, nice boot to prevent scratching, lightweight, and the leads are long enough. I purchased one of the first runs of the DD-1 s long time ago and my complaint was the RCA input on top of the unit didn't accept heavy duty RCA's. I'm happy to see they now include an RCA adapter to extend it for ease of use and adaptability. A must have in any car audio tool box 👍

The best thing to enhance your system.
Cannot believe that this device made so much difference in how my system sounds. It is the single best thing I have purchased for my audio system. The SMD-DD1 is the truth. For you people who say it don't work , you're full of shit. Steve Meade. Thank you for creating such a great product . This is what my system has been missing.

Very impressed with this unit! Takes all the guess work out and when your done with tuning, which is super fast, you know your set right and clipping or dirty sound isn’t going to make your system sound bad or cook some voice coils because of clipping. Comes with the CD to test with and harness. Awesome product and I would recommend this as a very good investment if your into car audio like we are! But it now...

For complete beginners
Purchased this unit out of curiosity to see if I could fine tune my system a bit more annnnd pretty much where I all my settings by ear were..was about the same settings this unit recommended..sooo unless your really having a hard time setting your system by ear then get it..otherwise if your system sounds good that’s probably cause it is already close to where it needs to be

Didn't know how to use it at first but once I figured it out threw the instructions it came with it works like a charm and now I don't set anything without it good price same quality that you would get from anywhere else

This thing works great but is way overpriced for what it is, probably only 30 bucks to make this thing so $50 would be a better value
Way overpriced for a distortion detector, it does work but $50 would be more appropriate price probably only 30 dollars worth of parts

Expensive, but worth it!
This is great so you can tune your años and crossovers correct the first time! Only thing is that it is the old model, they have the new model out that’s sold out everywhere!

SMD DD1 distortion detector
A must have tool to quickly and easily get the maximum distortion free power out of your audio system without stressing out your speakers and possibly blowing them If your trying to do it by ear. I am very happy with this product and I highly recommend it.
