Thought it would be a smoothly functioning device......AT FIRST!
Fairly easy to install and pair w/ my vehicle (2019 Kia Niro EV), but 2 problems(?).
1) When charging my vehicle in my carport in front of my home, my cell phone continuously attempts to connect to the car's Android Auto. This happens (though Google should correct the problem) because, if any of the electrical of my car is alive (ie. functioning), then AA on my phone will attempt to connect to the car endlessly (given that my phone is w/i communication range of my car.
I know this because for the 5-6 minutes that my car interior lights are still on after locking and walking away, it attempts to connect.....and also, when I am near enough to the car w/ FOB/key on my person, as it should the car senses it and prepares for me to enter, AND this also starts the AA Adaptor attempting to connect. SO, WHEN CHARGING MY CAR AT HOME I AM FORCED TO UNPLUG THE MOTOROLA AA ADAPTOR AND, AFTER CHARGING THE CAR, MUST THEN REINITIATE THE PAIRING W/ MY PHONE PROCESS EACH TIME. Now, that I'm aware of it I assume this added process will become 'habit', but it's an obvious glitch which Google AA needs to fix.........and is quite a PAIN IN THE A$$ !
2) While driving the connection does tend to cut out more often than I might have expected it to, and sometimes doesn't come back unless I re-pair the Adaptor w/ my phone. Doing this (unplugging adaptor, plugging phone into car's system w/ USB cable, then doing the quick switcheroo required per pairing instructions).....all while driving is not fun, and EXTREMELY UNSAFE.
However, given the reduced (special) price paid for it (approx. $65 w/ tax & shipping), I'll likely keep it and hope Google fixes the issues SOONER RATHER THAN LATER !
