Cradle Of Filth - Live Bait For The Dead
This is the first official live album from the band which was recorded on home soil around the time of the Midian album. This set is a good representation of a live album done well. Some bands release sub-standard quality live recordings that don't do the band any justice and aren't worth a second listen. The quality of the recording and the performances on offer here sound surprisingly good and demonstrate that the members involved in the lineup were firing cohesively on all cylinders during this touring cycle. This could be the reason this live release is the only one that has been released by the band up to this point over their 25 plus year existence. Most songs are from the Midian album and the first album The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh, and at least one track from each of the other releases from the period between the 2 albums. Disc 2 also provides some rare tracks and alternate versions of songs that might prove difficult to track down elsewhere, adding to the value of this live album. The presentation of the cd's comes with a clear slipcase and transparent booklet design that will make this album sit well alongside other iconic Cradle albums in your collection. If you are into Midian-era Cradle and earlier I can recommend this live album.
