A very solid metal piece for the price.
Outer is a Brushed nickel metal NOT a cheap plastic, Inner is treaded black metal making this overall a strong heavy duty part. I do however wish the design allowed for a setscrew to connect the inner metal to the outer shell accessible from outside. In other words the inner and outer are screwed together from inside and the only fastening of the entire device is threading the entire piece directly onto the pipe protruding from the wall.
