        Larousse Gastronomique 2009 edition

        This is an encyclopedia on cooking that is a must for any aspiring cook. This has all the classic recipes, all the explanations of cooking terminology from A - Z. This edition is smart, the book is huge with fine almost delicate pages. I would not call this a cookbook - this is a reference book - and not to be used in the kitchen where it can be messed on, rather it is the go-to place when you need to learn, explore and understand. A brilliant addition to my library.

        Cooks major reference to cooking.

        The bible behind all your cooking needs. It is not glossed up with pretty colourful pictures but if you are serious about cooking and starting from grass roots up to high standard, this is the literature to get you there. It has certainly clarified for me cooking terminology and something I was extremely weak on, sauces. Two minor things that were relevant to me but other information within this book, everything you wanted to know about the potato and the delicious dishes you can produce from them. Vegetables I had never heard of, the information is all there, what a reference guide and recipe book.

        A Great Classic

        I have an earlier edition from the last century. It has been remade in a quite wonderful way. A pleasure to read and use.

        Great encyclopidia of cooking

        This is a must for all amateur and professional cooks. The definitive bible to cooking (note very French orientated). If you need to know about a recipe or ingredients it will almost certainly be in here.
