All you'd expect to get from Canon L series.
I've only had a few days with this lens but I'm impressed. Images are as clean as you'd expect from a Canon L series lens, and the sharpness is excellent even at the extreme aperture (f22). For my needs this seems like an ideal lens. You never really know with a new lens until you've used it in a variety of conditions, but it seems like an excellent value so far.

Game Changing lens
I bought the nifty fifty first because it was more affordable, but on an aps-c sensor, I found it to be a really awkward focal length. I wanted something wider and went back and forth for months before I chose to buy this one. Having only had it for a week, I can say that quality blows the 50 out of the water. It's super sharp and super fast. I love how much detail this can pull from the whole image including the shadows. Great lens! You won't regret it.

Can't ask for better!
The lens is just incredible. Sharp and handles low light incredibly well. The "L" series lenses have the best canon optics that they make. Can't recommend high enough.

Awsome
Times like this I wish I was a poet. I finally own this jewel. I took it out of the box mounted it on my camera Went around and started taking all kinds of photos. It's everything everyone said it was. If you're an amateur you just become a pro if you're a pro you just became an artist.

The 2nd generation is too expensive. This earlier version is still one of the Canon's classic L lens, very sharp and very versatile.

Fast and sharp. Good in low light.
I really have not tested it extensively yet but the initial test shows that this lens is worth every penny I have paid for it.

Steal!
Surpassed my expectations! I had to purchase a lens cap ($6 no biggie) and do a thorough cleaning but this lens is perfect and the images are excellent!

Best lens for your collection
I’ve been eyeing this lens for a while now but was too nervous to make the leap with the price. However, I found a great deal and had to, definitely worth the price.
