Steely Dan have always been primarily a studio band, finding live shows and tours too arduous and unrewarding to do with any frequency. In fact, the last five years Steely Dan was together, they refused to tour at all. So, it came as a surprise to many that the Dan toured a couple of years ago, and in 2000 they surprised everyone again by releasing their first studio record in 20 years. Becker and Fagen have always been the oddballs in the annals of seventies rock, and it still shows here. Recorded live in NYC at Sony Music Stages. Strike All the Big Red Words in my Little Black Book
A must-have. All the songs in the setlist are VG+. This band iteration is good looking & great sounding. Superb performances abound: My favs are: Green Earrings Bad Sneakers Black Friday ...but every track is entertaining & wondrous. This is the most important DVD in my collection. If you dig SD, you cannot go wrong.

Great Steely Dan Concert Video
This is a rare opportunity to see the late, great Walter Becker in action with his partner Donald Fagen, and a fantastic version of the Steely Dan band. Although I could have gone for less of the director's quick cuts and quasi-arty camery angles, overall this is a great disc. The little vignettes in between songs with Donald and Walter interviewing their band members public access-style are great fun, too.

A must for any Steely Dan fans
Expanding my DTS 5.1 collection, and bought this on impulse, assuming it was just a 5.1 DVD version of the CD. I was very wrong. It's a video with several additional songs (all in beautiful 5.1) and interviews with band members.

good
cool video. not much out there on these guys. love the studio stuff and the live sounds just as good. why didn't they release more? now that the guitarist is passed probably the last, hopefully not. i prefer the concerts without all the talk, but these guys are cool and it doesn't bother me that much. good stuff

Well Done
Excellent musicianship interspersed with jovial conversation. These guy set the bar so high. A slice of time comes back to life in this superb DVD.
