Uplifting Movie
I wasn't sure how I would like this movie; a relative recommended it, and that can either be very good or very bad! I found it to be an inspiring movie, start to finish. A lesson that God can use anyone who is willing to be used to do some pretty amazing things--no one should let anyone discourage her from doing what she feels called to do. No special effects...just great acting.
The cast of this movie is outstanding and the plot is strong. I was a little nervous about seeing a white actor portray a Chinese character but the character portrayed by Robert Donat was so likable that I quickly forgot about this apprehension. This movie is very worthwhile, especially to peopke who have a calling on their lives and refuse to be deterred because of perceived limitations. The young missionary the story is about knew beyond ny doubt where she was called to serve and even though few shared her cinvictions and tried to dissuade her, she would not be deterred. A must see for Bergman fans and history loveres.

Wonderful true story of faith, a must have for any missionary movie collection!
One of my favorite missionary stories. I'm not a movie critic, but I'm familiar with Gladis Ailward's life. The movie unfortunately has been "holywoodised" (added to an already ineradicable story of faith, and left out some of the most extraordinary parts of her life), but non the less, still an awesome addition to anyone's movie collection!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

One of my favorite movies!
I've always loved this movie, it's a beautiful - if not accurate - spin on the life of Gladys Aylward who was a missionary in China. The movie stays true enough to the essence of the story, though, and of course includes some romance which I think only adds some spice to the story. Ingrid Bergman at her best
It has Ingrid Bergman and Curt Jergens starring with Robert Donat. These are all A+ actors whose chemistry in the 1958 film really brings this true story to life.
