Derek Minter started his racing career in 1953 on a BSA Gold Star. After transferring to a couple of Nortons, he soon became 'King of Brands'. After becoming double British Champion in 1958, two years later he became the first man to lap the Isle of Man TT circuit at over 100mph on a single-cylinder bike. This title is a tribute to Derek Minter., Derek Minter: King of Brands is the story of a true road racing legend. Someone who was, on equal machinery, capable of beating the world's best riders, his many achievements included winning a host of British Championship titles, being the first man to lap the Isle of Man TT circuit on a single cylinder machine at over 100mph. And beating the entire Honda works team in the 1962 250cc TT on a privately entered bike to score a sensational victory.
