Works perfectly. (Pre-Retina MBP A1278).
Best upgrade ever for my MBP! From lifting the lid to the sign in screen being visible now takes three seconds where with the previous 7200rpm mechanical HDD, boot used to last around twelve seconds. It's also much quicker during use and is also cool, quiet and came with the necessary adaptor for machines whose drive bay is 9.5mm deep, though the Mac's bay is 7mm so that wasn't needed. I recommend one of these for any machine that uses a 2 1/2" sata drive in either 9.5 or 7mm depth, the difference is like night & day!
