Good mindless TV entertainment.
Taken more as a comedy M Squad is great. Every episode the super tough guy Lee Marvin gets knocked out after entering a room with his back to the bad guy or guys. The police procedure is straight from the "Police Academy" training and the Director misses a lot. "Frank this is the Lab, we got an ID on your body from his fingerprints. Here's the report." Finally after 10 minutes of calling the dead guy by name and searching his home Frank rushes out-----"I've got to get this guys prints to the Lab to see what they know." holding the same report the Lab gave him. And the fights are worth watching to see how many bad angles show the missed blows. When they beat the poor guy with a sandbag it showed under the table beating a board nowhere near the victim. I could never get down to the 3 Stooges level but the unintentional comedy on M Squad is perfect. Another plus is Frank isn't facing sure death every episode like almost every other series from that era--Will Sky King's plane crash??? Will they save Matt Dillon from being killed by the bandits??? Golly since they just ran a commercial from 'next week's exciting episode' the suspense isn't very real.
