Strong dialogue & performances by the best women in the bussiness.
If you are into fast action, sex, violence & special effects this movie is not for you. If you want strong dialogue & performances by the best women in Hollywood this one's for you. I have a top 100 favorite movies, this one is on my top 5 of all times. I have been waiting years for it to finally to be released in DVD so I can know retire or sell my VHS. This is such a rare gem that just does not get the air time it deserves. Again pay attention to my 1st sentence so as not to disappoint yourself.

Filmed play has flaws
A very complex play utilizing the entire original cast for the film. An early work of director, Robert Altman. It's really too bad that the producers of the DVD didn't utilize closed captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing. I knocked off one star on my product rating.

Excellence
The directing, the screenplay, the acting.......all superb. What a great movie, watch it and be spellbound. Cher was never better, and Sandy Dennis gives the best performance, subtle and nuanced since "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf". They don't write them or make them like this anymore it seems!

A mixed up mess
It's okay. This is not a great film. I just wish I knew where this film was going. I got lost in the overlapping mess of the characters.

Sincerely.
One of the best films in my collection. If you knew the 50s, you'll love this film. If you didn't know the 50s, this film will make you wish you did.

Both copies ordered were defective
I did not get to view this movie. Both times I ordered it it was defective. I would very much like to have this movie so if anyone knows where I can get a good copy, please let me know.

Come back to the 5 and dime.
Saw this movie-play years ago. Had forgotten some characters and happening's but it was nice to see it again and reconnect. Like visiting old friends. Will not tell the plot. Jump in with both feet and enjoy. Two thumbs up!

Classic ,engaging characters,great acting.
