There's nothing predictable about this sitcom.
I watched more than a few episodes of this Series years ago on Maryland Public Television. Unlike large national networks which routinely rerun older programs and often in multiple time slots, with PBS there's no certainty a show will be screened ever again. While a Series would most likely go out in its entirety on PBS, if you weren't watching on the day and time of broadcast you might well entirely miss a quality program like One Foot In The Grave. That's the magic of DVDs, being able to watch any episode in your own time or to fill gaps between episodes you might have missed. And this is one you don't want to miss. The series features the life and times of Victor and Margaret Meldrew, played by Richard Wilson and Annette Crosbie. Their story begins as Victor takes involuntary early retirement and then develops as he looks for ways to stay busy, experiencing misfortune and misunderstandings along the way. Victor is perfectly counterbalanced by Margaret and while some of the situations they encounter may seem implausible if not outrageous, rather contrived on paper, say in a TV script... these two seasoned actors along with a small yet versatile supporting cast will have you forgetting about your problems as you witness one hilarious turn of events after another which are tempered by occasional moments of dark humor and surreal circumstances. Whenever I Want a Super Laugh
Fantastic. I have been waiting a long time to purchase this set at an excellent price. The characters are so funny and entertaining. A wife dealing with a newly retired husband who has a lot of misadventures.
