It's the best Sonic collection you can get. Well, for the Gamecube at least.
This collection has a great presentation, all the Mega Drive Sonic games and a few extras. And for how much this collection goes for nowadays, picking it up is really a no brainer. With that said, it's not perfect. It doesn't support save states, so you can't save at all except for in Sonic 3, so you have to beat all the games in one sitting. With how busy and impatient people are nowadays, this can easily be a deal breaker. Also, it doesn't support progressive scan even if you have component cables, so 480i is the best you're gonna get. With that said, the games still look surprisingly sharp if you use component. There are also a few emulation issues, but they're quite minor. So overall this is a solid collection, but to be honest, there are better ways to play these games nowadays. There ... There are better collections out there, such as Ultimate Genesis Collection for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and these games are available on almost all platforms, including Steam, Android and also iOS. There's even a Plus version of this collection available on PC, PS2 and Xbox, which has some Game Gear games, some additional extras and, more importantly, save state support. But if you're planning on sticking with the GameCube, you can get the Sonic Game Gear games in Sonic Adventure DX as you play through it. Still, this collection has a great presentation, and if you can get past the fact that you won't be able to save your progress, it can still be a great addition to your GameCube library.

Nowhere else will you find such a great steal! Let me count the ways; you get 7 high quality games in one disc, plus bonus material, and endless hours of fun for such a low price. It is an adventure where you are nearly free from the laws of physics being Sonic the hedgehog who can move at high velocity speeds. Even more special, is that it is a journey that you can embark upon with a friend or sibling that can have your back in nearly every game, or there is also the "versus" modes where you can fight each other without actual real life conflict. What I like about the game is the feel: it is like you are Sonic, for instance, you can feel when you drop, and you can feel the effort and drag when Tails flies. It is incredibly challenging at every stage. The colors are very vivid and ... Nowhere else will you find such a great steal! It is much more asthetically appealing than Tetris. The whole Sonic games experience is just full of memories waiting to be made! Enjoy !!!

Fantastic game! And great price!
This game was worth the wait! Fantastic graphics and very nostalgia for me since I used to play it on the SEGA genesis. Highly recommend to anybody especially sonic fans!!! Plays just like a remember it! Controls also are very responsive

Sonic Mega Collection
A good way to play the first 3 games and then some. Tho I'd say the Sega Saturn Sonic Jam looks more compelling. I love this collection tho. I wish it had Sonic R and Sonic the Fighters and Sonic CD, but oh well that's a different collection.
