Product Information

While the premise of this situation comedy rests on the supernatural powers of a housewife/witch, the writing pays more attention to character development than to actual witchery. When Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery) decides to marry mortal Darrin Stephens (Dick York) much to the dismay of her mother Endora (Agnes Moorhead), she agrees to keep her powers at bay. But more often than not, Samantha just can't help herself, and uses her magic in a series of ridiculous and entertaining situations. This release contains all 36 episodes of the show's debut season. While the Stephens family grows in subsequent seasons (with the birth of Tabitha, and later Adam), Season One focuses on the newlyweds. Just a few of the episodes include "I, Darrin, Take This Witch, Samantha," "Mother Meets What's His Name," and "It's Magic." First airing in 1964, BEWITCHED really depended on the chemistry between its ensemble, which included Alice Pearce, Maurice Evans, George Tobias, Maria Lorne, and guest stars Adam West, Raquel Welch, Peggy Lipton, and Arte Johnson.

    A lot of times on eBay these sellers will use an entire roll of tape on a package this record was packaged in such a convenient safe way. The record itself is in perfect condition works very well just as was described. The price could not be beat. And the fact that I ordered it Friday night and it showed up Monday morning was sheer percection. Cannot beat that. Great seller and store will be using them again. l

    Legendary Comedy show from the 60's where Witches & Warlocks steal the show!

    Thank you for prompt delivery of Bewitched The Complete First Season. I was a fan of the serious and delighted I have the DVDs in my video library... Thanks to YOU! It always a treat to watch these classic characters from yesterday. Elizabeth Montgomery of course was the daughter of the legendary Robert Montgomery from the Golden Age of Hollywood starring in over 50 cinematic film showcasing a wide variety of roles. As an extra treat, Dick York busted onto the silver screen starring in the epic drama, "Inherit The Wind" which included a powerful triple threat of the movie matinee idols, Spencer Tracy, Fredric March & Gene Kelly. Bewitched, the TV show boasted a mega-star of its own from both the stage & screen, the extremely talented , Agnes Moorehead who abandons her usual thespian-fair ...

    Bewitched: Season One. The Beginning of a Classic Television Series.

    I purchased seasons two through five of "Bewitched" at a discount store and thought it would be wise of me to have season one to complete the set. It is great to see how Samantha, Darrin, Endora, Aunt Clara and the Kravitzes characters are developed in the first season and made "Bewitched" a classic television series. A little advice: Since season one of "Bewitched" was broadcast originally in black and white and the rest of the series is broadcast in color, you may want to decide if you want to purchase the colorized DVD or the black and white DVD. I purchased the colorized season one DVD of "Bewitched" because I have seasons two through five DVDs of "Bewitched" and they were all originally broadcast in color.

    Very Entertaining And Amusing

    Very entertaining and amusing start to a wonderful classic TV show. I love seeing these in color for the first time. I'm not a witch and do not promote witchcraft but deep down I know we'll have special powers in heaven and will be able to do a lot of things we could not do in the flesh. Elizabeth Montgomery was surely the star of the show because she was devoted to her husband and wanted to live a normal life with him and enjoy it without all of the witchcraft involved and I think there is a very good human lesson to be appreciated from that.

    Good entertainment.

    Hours of enjoyment

    This season 1, completes my Bewitched collection of all 8 seasons. We watch these at our cabin where we have no cable TV. Very entertaining and funny, .....even if dated, doesnt seem like it is. Lots of episodes for hours of enjoyment.
