A docking station with no way to power it makes a good door stop
I needed a docking station and this seemed to fit the bill but I didn't see the lack no power but I know they run off 5v so I thought no one would sell it without the means to make it work, it must be powered by the USB but it doesn't so I have a small brick. I bought another display link dock with power which I now use. Nice docking station, shame about the lack of cables
The box has unusual power requirements - it's power adapter is not appropriate to drive most other IT devices and the power adapters of other IT devices don't cover the needs profile of this device so it is hard to understand how they become separated, but there are a few of these devices with no cables out there. The USB 3 cable is another important part of the package but much easier to source. Once you source the various extra bits (which adds significantly to the cost), you end up with a capable and very well specified device which would retail for around £150. Great value docking station
This was an expensive docking station when new, but used on eBay it now makes for a really good value docking station. It has dual monitor outputs, plenty of USB ports, and built-in audio (which is what I really wanted, to replace an old SoundBlaster USB interface which no longer works). And all from one single USB3 connection from the laptop :-)

Good docking station, robust kit
If want a dual monitor set up on your computer, this is tthe product you need. There is a review on Youtube that says the 'Type 51' does not work. The item I received was a 'Type 71' which worked well. The only advice I would give is to leave your existing monitor directly connected to your computer and run the second monitor from the docking station. Trying to run both monitors through the dock does work, but you will see noticeable lag, especially when using a graphics tablet.If want a dual monitor set up on your computer, this is tthe product you need.
