One Good Turn dot dot dot
Ms. Harrison's book, " The Turn" is the last of 'The Hollows" series, and it's birth in the series' chronology. For Hollow-familiar readers, there are a few familiar characters, in their onset of their story lines. "He of the blue lenses and amber stench" has his part to play and reek havoc. "God's gift to women" really 'did the canine', on several levels at once. (It's the HOW that is so much fun!) A city by a river goes missing, while another one becomes 'home plate' .A well-known singer has a cameo. A bald-headed "lord" is introduced. The poor guy caught in the middle of all of this, plays his 'trump' card, as any red-blooded American might. The book takes time to develop the feather bedding for all the future stories, along with the heartache, tragedy, blind greed, incompetence, that blind ambition can wrought. The characters are believable to the point where *I* slipped out: "You stupid moron!" It is a daunting task, to open all the why's for The Turn.
