Inside the lens has minute dusts particle, and middle lens is foggy slightly and has stains a little, however it is not effect on picture quality and there is no fungus and no scratch. There is some wobble in the lens barrel when the zoom is extended. We confirmed Auto Focus and Aperture blade work properly by mounting on Camera. There is no problem with working.”

It hasn't come off my camera
This is a solid, well-built performer that has already captured some great images. I already owned the newer and lighter 28-85 3.5-4 with VR, but the 2.8 added speed and the macro provided more versatility. Some users have whined about how the macro operates with its on/off mode and more limited focal lengths (35-85 instead of 24-85), but then, there are reviewers out there who always find something to whine about. If you're a reasonably astute hobbyist, you won't have any gripes about the mechanism or this lens at all. In fact, I think you'll fall in love with it quickly. Great lens.
Great lens. Sharp and fast. Good general use range through "normal" focal lengths. FX for full image area camera.

The best lens ever.
One of the best lens I've ever used. I'm sure I won't take it off my camera for so long. Perfect image, fast focusing, very useful for so many kind of photographs.

"Very Sharp image and durable"
"The good Nikon heavy glass." The Macro feature is such a plus on this lens. I owned one in the past and was sorry I sold it. It is so good to have this Nikon Nikkor 24-85 f2.8-4 in my possession again. It is among my favorite and useful lens. When I'm out hiking in the mountains, the macro is so useful on close ups. I highly recommend this lens.

An excellent "walking-around" lens
Got this lens to replace an identical one that I had, literally, used to death--it has been my walking-around lens for over ten years. This is a very sharp lens, and has virtually no distortion or vignetting--one of the very few zoom lenses one can say that about. The reason I said this was "not durable" is that my original one of these has had a repeated problem with a little plastic piece that tracks in and out during zooming. I cemented it back in place several times, but after the last failure, decided to just get another one of these lenses. To keep from damaging this part, it is important NOT to rack the zoom rapidly in and out, so that you hit the end of the travel forcefully. I'm going to be more careful with this one, and I look forward to at least another decade of walking-around ...
